What to Bring
This is a summer event in Scotland so be sure to bring:
-Warm clothes, waterproofs and decent footwear
-Midge Repellent
-Accommodation will be camping so bring a tent and sleeping bag and a torch and roll mat would also be really useful. There are a limited number of beds available, but please get in touch in advance so we can arrange this.
-A pen and paper will be useful for workshops.
-We will be providing entertainment during the evenings so if you’d like to be part of that, feel free to bring along any instruments or other props you might need to entertain us all.
-If you have any useful tools or equipment such as climbing gear that you could bring to the weekend, that would be great, let us know in your email.

Costs
There will be a £20 suggested donation for attending the skillshare. This is to cover the cost of food, and some of the cost of putting on the event: diesel and gas etc. The requested £20 is only a suggested donation, and if you can’t afford this then please come to the event and pay what you can.

Food
Hot vegan food will be served all weekend, so you won’t need to bring any of your own. If you have any special dietary requirements, please let us know.  There will be a kitchen rota at the event so the cooking can be shared by all participants.

Kids’ Space
This year we have decided that instead of a classic “Kids Space”, we are hoping to provide an “Intergenerational Fun Space”. If you could let us know in advance if you are bringing children along to the event it would be a good help for organizing this space and the activities beyond it.

Dogs
If you have dogs, please leave them at home. As there are dogs already living at Talamh, the residents are concerned that lots of dogs would fight or run amok. However, if this means you wont be able to come to the skillshare then please get in touch in advance, and we can try to sort something out.

First Aid

There will be trained first aiders on hand at the skillshare. However, this is a physical, outdoors event and so it is up to everyone to be aware of their own limits and act safely to avoid injury.

Entertainments

The evenings of the skillshare are a perfect time to relax and enjoy listening to music, making new friends, watching inspirational films and just being outdoors. We have a pub quiz in the making, a number of bands and musicians confirmed for the event and plenty of opportunities for open mic sessions, game playing and enjoying the beauty of a camp fire.

Dogs: due to the presence of resident dogs at Talamh and our previous experiences with having many dogs attend our events we are asking that dogs are NOT brought to the outdoor skillshare. We understand how difficult it can be to leave dogs with other people and should this prevent you from attending the event then we may be able to accommodate them BUT if possible… then please respect this request and leave dogs at home.
